Healthy Schools
We are a healthy school
The Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Scheme (WNHSS) is a national network of local healthy school schemes, which support schools in their area to promote health. The scheme is a Welsh Government programme managed by Public Health Wales.
The aim is to work through all seven topics of the scheme as you progress through the phases. The health topics are:
-
Food and Fitness
-
Emotional Health and Wellbeing
-
Substance Use and Misuse
-
Personal Development and Relationships
-
Environment
-
Hygiene
-
Safety
Currently at Thornwell we are working on the fifth phase of the healthy schools accreditation. At the end of phase 5 there is a National Quality Award for excellence that we can work towards.
